Dana is an Occupational Therapist as well as owner of Sunrise Therapy Services. She has strived to build Sunrise on a reputation of honesty and excellent quality of services. Dana received her Master of Science in Arizona at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has over twelve years working with children birth to 18 years of age. Dana is certified in the Neurodevelopmental Treatment Approach for Pediatrics and has the one week certification in “NDT Approach to Baby Treatment” course with Louis Bly. She is also certified provider in Myofascial Release, DIR floortime, Bal-A-Vis-X, Vision Intervention, Behavior Vision Concepts, ILS, Interactive Metronome, Vital Links, Theraputic Listening, and in the administration of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test. Dana passion and specialty is in the area of sensory processing disorder and has taken advanced mentorships with Lucy Miller at the Star Center. Dana has also completed the Arizona Early Intervention Program Standards of Practice Certification. Dana Strives to enpower her staff and parents to create a successful Early Intervention Program.

Robin is an Arizona native, originally from Tucson. She joined Sunrise Therapy in 2019 and loves being part of this amazing team! Robin has been working with children and families for over 20 years. She is passionate about meeting families where they are at and supporting them in their child’s growth and development. In her free time, Robin loves spending time with her husband and 2 daughters, reading, cooking, and hanging with her dogs and chickens.

Betsy is a speech-language pathologist who received her Master of Arts degree at Bowling Green State University and her Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University. Betsy has spent the last forty years serving families of young children with speech and language delays. Betsy is certified in the 8-week NDT training course and has extensive training and experience in pediatric feeding concerns. Betsy is particularly interested in facilitating enjoyable mealtimes for anxious or worried eaters and their families, helping to empower them through sensitive coaching and mutual collaboration.

Tracey received her Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University and her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Wisconsin. She has been working in Early Intervention for the past 12 years with the last 3 years being in Arizona. Tracey enjoys partnering with families to determine their child’s unique strengths and using them to improve their child’s ability to communicate with others. She loves being with her family, spending time on Lake Michigan in the summer and two year old hugs.

Shannon is a speech language pathologist. She received her Master`s in Speech-Language Pathology from New Mexico State University. Melissa is a licensed Occupational Therapist for the past 16 years working with children birth to 10 years of age, with the majority of that time with the birth to 3 population. Melissa has spent the last 5 years specializing in children with eating, feeding and swallowing disorders. She has also earned the advanced specialty certification in this area. Melissa has a great deal of experience also working with children that have physical, sensory processing and cognitive delays.

AJ is certified, has been a physical therapist for 21 years, 17 of which was at Phoenix Children’s Hospital where she treated a wide variety of children with complex medical issues. She has extensive experience working with premature infants and multiples. AJ has also had extensive experience teaching at many levels including in Physical Therapy programs, physician resident education, families and colleagues.

Julie enjoys using her knowledge and experience as both a therapist and a parent to guide the families she works with to always have hope and strive for highest potential outcomes by making daily, functional activities a part of the therapy process.

Katie is a board-certified music therapist who received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University. Katie has experience working in both home and clinic-based programs. Katie also has experience as a registered teacher with Music Together of Phoenix which is a music program designed to develop not only basic musical competencies for infants and toddlers, but also to aid in the overall development of the child. Katie finds great joy in providing families and caregivers with fun ideas for activities to help enhance a child’s learning and development as well as provide support and offer helpful resources.

Julia Ascoly has been working as a speech therapist since 1999. She earned a Masters degree in Communication Disorders from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2003. Julia has worked in Early Intervention since 2010 and has received Master Teams training. When not visiting families, she can be found riding her mountain bike or skiing the San Francisco peaks.

Erika Medina is a Bilingual Service Coordinator. Erika has worked with children 0-13 years old for the past eleven years. Erika was the director of a before and after school program for the Phoenix Elementary School district #1 from 2008-2012. Working with children at this Title 1 district led her to pursue and complete her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood development. Erika left teaching to work on a one to one basis in the home with children and families with the Southwest Human Development Healthy Families program servicing expectant mothers and children 0-5 years old. Wanting to broaden her knowledge in the field, Erika started her graduate program at Arizona State University in 2015 and graduated with her Masters of Arts in Family and Human Development in 2016. Erika started working in Early intervention May of 2016 and continues to share her knowledge with Region 7 Teams 1 and 2. In her free time, Erika enjoys spending time with her dog Teddy, visiting Disneyland, and cooking recipes she finds on Pinterest.

Teri has loved working with infants and toddlers for almost 13 years. She enjoys teaching families different ways to play with their child as they interact together and celebrates with them when their child develops a new skill. Prior to early intervention, she taught middle school for 9 years, but decided to stay at home to raise her 5 children. Her youngest daughter was born with down syndrome. Teri is thankful for AzEIP and the therapists that coached her on how to help her daughter reach developmental milestones. Jenny received her master’s degree from Ohio State University in 2018. She gained experience with all ages and populations throughout graduate school but decided her passion was in working with young children. She immediately moved from Ohio to Arizona to begin her career in early intervention as a Speech-Language Pathologist (and to escape freezing Ohio winters). While she loves working with toddlers, her favorite part about her job is building relationships with her client’s parents and caregivers. She loves coaching and empowering parents so they can feel confident and comfortable in using early speech and language strategies at home with their own child. Stephanie specializes in pediatric feeding working with medical complex children at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and at Banner Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NIUC). She has received certification within Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP), Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach and Beckman Oral Motor Certification. Stephanie enjoys helping family determine the root cause of feeding and language difficulties to help children gain the skills they need to enjoy a meal and communicate with their families.

My name is Zaeneb Traylor and I am a service coordinator in the Gilbert area. I have two daughters, two dogs, eight chickens, one lizard and a husband. Atalie is a compassionate and dedicated physical therapist with over 26 years of experience working with children of all abilities and diagnoses, ranging in age from birth through adolescence, in settings including clinic-based therapy, home health care, and Arizona Early Intervention. She received her Master of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University in 1997 and began her career in WA state,
where she worked within a hospital, including ICU, general surgical/orthopedics, and acute neurological rehabilitation settings. An Arizona native, sunshine and family drew her home shortly thereafter where she found her love of pediatric therapy. Atalie has extensive knowledge and experience in areas such as
seating/standing/mobility options including powered mobility with alternative access methods, assessment for early identification of motor disorders, TASES (Task-specific electrical stimulation), and Perception-Action approach. She is passionate about providing fun and engaging therapeutic activities to motivate children and to make a meaningful impact on children’s functional abilities and independence across all settings of their lives.
